Diplo’s hippy-step banger “About That Life” psychedelically blends light and heavy with Jahan Lennon on the vocal. Everything’s right about this modern yet timeless track, sounds like the 2060s, and from a DJ perspective this fits in well with a lot of other genres as an upbeat feel-good jam. Mad Decent indeed. I imagine the 159,000+ plays are from only about 50 people who can’t stop replaying it:

Snoop Dogg is now Snoop Lion?! The apparently new-and-improved rap star has embraced the red, gold and green, under the production tutelage of Major Lazer. With Diplo & Switch on the beats, this is smooth-sailing classically-styled reggae. Snoop doesn’t deliver much of an impressive flow, instead letting his delicate vocals mingle with the pared-back rhythm section and the supporting female part. “La La La” is an intriguing effort, the question is whether Reincarnation will deliver as an LP or not. Hopefully this track is just on the lighter side, and Snoop can deliver some reggae tracks worthy of the Lion moniker.

Bonde do Role’s “Kilo” video takes a spaghetti Western and turns it into fruit.  The Portuguese-sung track, with 50s era guitars and a steady percussion clap is solid enough, but the video, starring Diplo as a digital cowboy, takes things to the next level.  Fruit flys, teenaged fantasies are fulfilled, psychedelic swirls and hazy lips appear, adding up to a mesmerizing visual presentation.  Mad Decent indeed:
