Da Rocinha, from Sango, delivers Brazil-gone-bass: “funk carioca” taken to the future. The unsubtly-titled “Tremendo o Bumbum” delivers throbbing low-end theory layered with chopped drums and vocals. “Não Solta Não” hints at what a South American slow-jam by M.I.A. or Santigold would sound like; “Passinho Kudoro” and “Todo o Mundo” are both uptempo bangers for a dirty basement party; “Fica Caladinha” is Portuguese dancehall, heavy and sticky in the ears. The Digitaldubs Sound System are a Brazilian… well, digital dub sound system.  They make nice low-end music, with a distinctive South American flavor.  They follow the dub tradition, while clearly having plenty of other influences and inspirations.  In addition to remixing and producing the following tracks, they also did the score to the fantastic dub documentary Dub Echoes.  Check out the preview for that as well:
